24th Annual 2-Club Event, Sunday, October 11
Christian Wilson is hosting this year while Ray is traveling. Same rules as always:
Two clubs only, and your putter counts as one.
Play the ball as it lies, and hole out on every hole.
Maximum net 7 per hole.
Blue tees, net scoring.
Tee times from about 9:15 to 10:30 am, finishing before the Broncos game.
Entry: $50. Pay Christian before you tee off. He prefers cash, and his Sept 28 email has the other ways to pay.
Payouts: based on the number of paid players.
It's capped at 40 players. Sign up on the Hiwan app by searching "2-Club."
Last call: the season survey closes Monday
If you haven't taken it yet, it takes about seven minutes and your answers are anonymous. It's for everyone, whether you played in the Cup or not. The committee will use it to plan 2027.
The survey closes Monday, October 12.
Two committee seats are open
Last November, members elected the first HMGA Advisory Committee. This year, two of those seats are up: the one-year terms held by Rick Newberg and Ray Dowdle. Both are welcome to run again, and so is any HMGA member.
What the job is: the committee works with Troy and the club on the men's golf calendar, event formats, rules and fees. It meets monthly, plus before the big events. Seats elected this year run three years, through November 2029. New members join their first meeting on November 16. Committee jobs are handed out in December, and planning for 2027 with club management starts in January.
How to run: answer Yes or Maybe on the last question of the season survey and leave your name and email. That's the only part of the survey that isn't anonymous, and it isn't linked to your other answers. Once the survey closes on October 12, we'll email you the candidate form. Your background and vision will appear on the ballot and the HMGA site exactly as you write them.
Already took the survey and skipped that question? Reply to this email and we'll send you the form.
Timeline
By Oct 12: raise your hand on the survey
Oct 23: completed candidate forms due
Oct 27: candidates confirmed
Nov 2 to Nov 12: voting. Every member gets a personal voter code by email, and paper ballots will be at the pro shop.
By Nov 15: results announced, with every candidate's vote total
Nov 16: new members join their first committee meeting
How the vote works: vote for up to two candidates, and the two with the most votes win. Ballots are private. Only the two vote counters see them, Stephen and Troy Persson as the independent counter, and no totals show while voting is open. If two or fewer people run, they're elected without a vote.
The 2026 season in photos
The season gallery is live, from the moose at Qualifier #1 to the trophy on the green at the Hud Dean Cup. Thanks to Tim Murray for collecting and sharing so many of these.
Have photos or video of your own? Tap Add photos & videos, pick the event, and send them in. The committee reviews everything before it goes up, and you can add your name so you get the credit.
See you out there,
